Let's consider that things that we can say about personal journeys to faith. I think that we might do well to give a personal account everyday for what we did in Jesus name.

Many times I think that our story might be abrupt, stunted. But then this thought comes to mind, Jesus is my intercessor.

You can close your eyes

"You can close your eyes" James Taylor

well the sun is surely sinking down
but the moon is surely risin
but this old world must still be spinning round
and I still love you
so close your eyes
you can close your eyes
it's alright
it won't be long before another day
we gonna have a good time
and no one's going to take that time away
you can stay as long as you like
so close your eyes
you can close your eyes
it's alright
I don't know no love songs
And I can't sing the blues anymore
but I can sing this song
and you can sing this song when I'm gone

The acoustic guitar in the background and the singer's particular method and use of the chorus tells us a love story of surrender...

"it won't be long before another day" tell me about the gift of Christmas which is heaven. In the end nothing that we did and nothing that anyone did to us matters, what matters is that God himself came to stand for us in the place of our sin, my sin. "and I still love you" is a wonderful line as it tells about the power of love which seems so undervalued in society. But whatever people have to say about love it can never truly be conquered, denied or defeated. Love is after all is said and done the victor.

The prodigal son comes home, and that is what some of us will do. We will wait for the hour that we are called, and we will take our broken lives to him as one who in descent to hell realizes love might still save him, let my life be more than this.

Everything Lord, everything I surrender.

amen

What you choose to see

I think that there must be a Christmas somewhere in the world everyday. Where someone has given their life to Jesus. Sometimes it's glamorous and acknowledged but most of the time the only celebration is above and invisible to human eye.

While this world is full of sadness that we cannot change, it's better far better to think of the things that one can do to help others and not about those things that we can't change.

I give my heart to you Jesus, thanks for giving me so much more to live for.
